I'm going to build a small stitch and glue canoe that calls for 1/4" plywood. i'm planning on using ac exterior grade plywood, and using glass cloth and epoxy on the entire exterior, and just epoxy on the interior. i'm to paint the exterior and varnish the interior after epoxy.. This is my 21' long, 7' wide boat build. i used 1/2" exterior treated plywood for the hull material, 2"x4" treated finished yellow pine for my stringers at 2' centres, 2"x6" keel, and putting one. Exterior grade plywood is generally also glued with resorcinol. many boats are built with exterior grade plywood and they can give give long service. exterior grade plywood is considerably cheaper than marine grade but everything comes at a price, of course..
